The inaugural, 2010 edition of The Catlin Guide is an introduction to 40 of the most promising new graduate artists in the UK. More than five hundred artists were initially recommended by a wide survey of BA and MA course leaders, independent curators, gallerists and collectors, making The Catlin Guide an accurate overview of new British art in 2010. The forty short-listed artists, all graduates from Summer 2009, were selected for their potential to influence the shape and dynamic of contemporary art during the next decade.
Each artist profile in The Catlin Guide details future exhibitions, projects and aspirations for 2010. Launching as a strictly editioned book (limited print-run of 2,010) at The London Art Fair in January 2010, The Catlin Guide will be presented alongside work by many of the featured artists.
